Kolkata, December 11th, 2024: CK Birla Hospitals-CMRI, Kolkata’s first multispecialty hospital celebrated its 55th anniversary, by hosting a thought-provoking panel discussion on “Pioneering Care: Innovations and Technology Shaping the Future of Healthcare,” that focused on advancements and transformative technologies in modern medicine. To mark the milestone, CMRI also launched the “Bhalo Theko” campaign, a culturally resonant theme wishing ‘good health and well-being’ to the people of West Bengal.

The panel discussion commemorating this milestone year featured Dr (Prof.) Sukumar Mukherjee-Consultant, Department of Internal Medicine, who led a thought-provoking conversation that sparked insightful exchanges. He stressed the crucial role of technology in surgery, highlighting the impact on critical thinking and complex decision-making during real-time procedures. The panel featured an esteemed team of specialists including Dr Amitabha Chanda-Director of Neurosurgery, Dr Rakesh Rajput-Director Orthopaedics, Dr Anupam Golash-Consultant Plastic Reconstructive Surgery, Dr Avik Bhattacharya-HOD Interventional Radiology, Dr Sanjay De Bakshi-Consultant GI Surgery, Dr Ajay Mandal- Consultant GI & Hepatobiliary Surgery, Dr Arjun Dasgupta-Consultant ENT, Dr Swarnali Dutta-Consultant Obstetrics & Gynaecology and Dr Pankaj Kumar Gupta-Consultant Urology who shared their insights on latest advancements and innovations in healthcare.


Prof. (Dr) Sukumar Mukherjee – Consultant, Department of Internal Medicine opined, “Advances in medical technology enable doctors to employ innovative surgical techniques, resulting in precise surgeries and faster patient recovery.
