Making everyone amazed, the students from the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) and the University of Engineering & Management, Kolkata (UEM), in collaboration with the researchers from IEMA Research & Development Pvt. Ltd., unveiled an advanced robot dog. During the inaugural ceremony for the new batch of first-year students at the IEM-UEM Campus, this technological innovation even greeted them.

The primary role of the robot dog project was to welcome the new students, but it can also play significant roles in healthcare, security, search and rescue, customer service, and education.
The mentors and students plan to further enhance the robot dog’s functionalities and explore new applications across various domains.

Guided by Prof. Amartya Mukherjee and Prof. Ayan Kr. Panja from IEM and Mr. Souvik Chatterjee from IEMA, the team, along with the other brilliant minds of the institution, set a new benchmark in robotics and AI.

The inauguration ceremony was graced by the higher officials from leading IT industries, including Tata Consultancy Services, Cognizant Technology Solutions, Capgemini, LTIMindtree, SMS Group, and more.

This collaboration between IEM-UEM and IEMA Research & Development Pvt. Ltd. encourages more groundbreaking projects, continuing to motivate a culture of excellence and innovation in engineering and management education.

Prof. Dr. Satyajit Chakrabarti, Director, IEM-UEM Group, said that projects like the Robot Dog not only demonstrate the technical capabilities of our students and teachers but also emphasise hands-on learning at IEM and UEM. These projects bridge the gap between academia and industry, preparing students for industry challenges and encouraging creative thinking.
