Kolkata 20th March, 2025: The International Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary Association hosted India Chapter of its 21st National Conference from 20th – 23rd March 2025 at Fairfield by Marriott, Newtown, Kolkata. The four-day conference was themed around ‘Innovations & Advances in HPB Surgery: Bridging the Gap from Bench to Bedside in the Age of AI.’ The conference witnessed eminent surgeons and clinicians from across the globe come together to drive enriching discussion on cutting-edge developments in the field of Hepato-Pancreato-Biliary (HPB) surgery.

Calcutta Medical Research Institute (CMRI) hosted a hands-on workshop on 23rd March, enabling doctors to gain practical understanding on technological advancements in HPB surgery and its future in India. Prominent doctors like the Chairman of the Association, Dr. Sanjay De Bakshi,Organizing Secretary, Dr. Sanjay Mandal and Joint Secretary Dr. Ajay Mandal, along with Dr. Avik Bhattacharya, HOD, Interventional Radiology, CMRI and Dr. Sarfaraz Beigh participated in the discussion. There was a key focus on innovative surgical techniques. Doctors emphasized on the increasing role of new-age technologies like robotics in HPB surgeries.
