Kolkata, 2025: Flavours of Africa has welcomed the Bengali New Year in true African spirit with the launch of its Suvo Naba Barsho Special Menu, which includes its new Massai Thaali. Get ready to be spoilt for choice, wondering whether to eat African or Bengali!

Poila Baisakh is an occasion to relish traditional Bengali cuisine and celebrate the New Year with the warmth of Bengali food. However, Flavours of Africa brought a new twist to this year’s Poila Baisakh by serving a flavoursome fusion of authentic African and Bengali cuisine, celebrating the meeting of the two cultures at the auspicious start of the Bengali New Year!

The Poila Baisakh special menu includes both Mboga Sahani (Veg Thali) priced at INR 1200/- and Sio Mboga (Non-Veg Thali) priced at INR 1500/- and is available from April 15th, 2025 to April 25th, 2025. The menu comprises of delectable preparations such as Basanti Pulao (Mchele wa njano), Spiced Fried Fish (Samaki wa Kukaanga), Chingri Machcher Malaicurry (Coco Crevettes), Chicken Dak-Banglow (Doro wat), Kosha Mangsho (Kaanga Mbuzi), Kacher Aamer Chutney (Embe Kijani Salsa) and sweet delights such as Narkeler Naru (Bon Coco), Payesh (Wali Nazi Pudding na Mango Compote), along with Kacha Aamer Sorbot (Embe Kijani Lemonade).

Speaking about the grand celebration, Dr Kalyan Kar, Owner of Flavours of Africa, shared: “This year Poila Baisakh is even more special for us since we have recently launched our new restaurant Flavours of Africa and it is its first Poila Baisakh.
