In a heartwarming display of compassion and commitment, the Rotary Club of Salt Lake Silicon Valley, in association with the Institute of Engineering & Management (IEM) and the University of Engineering and Management (UEM), organized a transformative charity program at a school for 180 special children and orphans, as well as 50 elderly residents of the community in Faridpur, Midnapore.

The event was filled with warmth, joy, and care, as the organizers distributed educational kits, books, stationery, lunch, and essential medical facilities, creating a nurturing and cheerful environment for the children. For the elderly attendees, it was a day of love and remembrance, filled with heartfelt conversations, shared stories, and moments of happiness.
A highlight of the event was the installation of a water purifier at the school, ensuring a sustainable source of clean drinking water for the children. This initiative will have a lasting impact on the lives of the students and the community.
Prof. Dr. Prabir Kumar Das, President of the Rotary Club of Salt Lake Silicon Valley, expressed his thoughts on the event, saying, “True service lies in giving hope and happiness. Today, we didn’t just donate—we connected, we listened, and we made memories with those who deserve the world.”
Prof. Dr. Samapika Das Biswas, Assistant Head of the Basic Science and Humanities Department at IEM under UEM, shared her insights on the event, stating, “Seeing the joy in the eyes of the children and elders reminded us why we serve. This was not just charity—it was a celebration of life, inclusion, and empathy.”
The event left a lasting impact, turning an ordinary day into one filled with extraordinary emotions. The Rotary Club and IEM-UEM reaffirmed their mission to support underserved communities and champion humanity through meaningful action.
