The Rotary Club of Salt Lake Silicon Valley, in association with the Literary Society and English Language Teachers Association of India (ELTAI) Kolkata Chapter, recently organised the ‘Artisan’s Arcade’ exhibition. Over 1200 students from various engineering institutions showcased their artistic and entrepreneurial skills at the exhibition, themed ‘Best out of Waste.’
The Artisan’s Arcade was a resounding success, encouraging a vibrant mix of tradition, creativity, environment, and community engagement. The event encouraged students to create scalable and economically profitable products from waste materials, promoting sustainability and resourcefulness.
A distinguished panel of judges, comprising Abhimanyu Chakraborty, Branch Head, IDBI Bank, Salt Lake Branch, and Saheli Das, renowned Visual Arts Expert, evaluated the projects and selected the winners.
Prof. Dr. Samapika Das Biswas, President, ELTAI Kolkata Chapter, praised the exhibition, stating, “This initiative highlights the importance of sustainability and resourcefulness in crafting. The students’ ability to transform everyday waste into functional art pieces is truly impressive.”
