January 2024, Kolkata: Anandajit Goswami, a three-time award-winning author, boasts a distinguished career as an economist with over 46 peer-reviewed publications in renowned international journals focusing on energy economics and policy. Beyond academia, he is a versatile individual—a musician and sportsperson—whose music has been featured in Jashn E Adab. Goswami’s literary contributions, lauded by Indian Literary Review and The Hindu, mark pioneering strides in Indian Literature.
As for his literary pursuits, Goswami has authored six fiction and six academic reference books. Notably, “Lucy Ebong Shei Trainti” stands out as the first installment in a groundbreaking science fiction series on sustainability. Set in a dystopian, post-humanistic world within a matrix of characters on a train, the mysterious thriller explores the challenges of sustainability through a forward movement of time. The plot culminates with a twist, presenting multiple answers for a hopeful world, utilizing metaphors of the mind, dreams, humanitarian love, understanding, creativity, and the embodiment of youth in Lucy.
Acknowledged by organizations like All India Human Rights Council and NADA Foundation, Goswami’s dedication to social empowerment is channeled through “The TOHRI Foundation.” A post-graduate in Economics from JNU with a Ph.D. in Energy Economics, he serves as a Director and Professor at Manav Rachna International Institute of Research and Studies. Additionally, he is a Research Fellow at the Ashoka Centre for People-Centric Energy Transition.
Goswami’s commitment extends to child and animal rights, collaborating with CRY and WWF. His musical endeavors for climate action resonate through the POP Movement, registered with the World Sustainable Development Forum. Providing advisory expertise to UNECA, UNIDO, Copenhagen Consensus Centre, NITI Aayog, and State Governments of Punjab, Haryana, and Himachal Pradesh, he leaves an indelible mark in various spheres.
