Kolkataâs Durga Puja Traditions and Cultural LegacyKolkata, 7 October 2026: As Durga Puja brings Kolkataâs rich cultural traditions into focus, SPK Jain Futuristic Academy took its experiential learning approach beyond the classroom through a Bonedi Bari Heritage Walk at Ramgopal Sahaâs House Durga Pujo, giving students an opportunity to explore the cityâs historic family homes and understand the traditions, rituals and cultural practices associated with Kolkataâs heritage Durga Puja celebrations.The heritage walk offered students first-hand exposure to the history and legacy of Ramgopal Sahaâs House, helping them understand how generations of families have preserved distinctive Puja customs and cultural practices over the years. The experience allowed students to observe the architectural character of the heritage home while gaining insights into the rituals, traditions and social history associated with Bonedi Bari Puja.The initiative also encouraged students to look beyond the festivities and understand the stories, customs and community practices that have shaped Kolkataâs Durga Puja heritage. Through direct observation and interaction, students explored how traditional celebrations have evolved over generations while retaining their cultural significance.The Bonedi Bari Heritage Walk reflected SPK Jain Futuristic Academyâs emphasis on experiential and contextual learning, where students are encouraged to learn through observation and engagement with real-world environments.
