.,The Siemens Provident Fund Scheme enacted under Section 4 of the Siemens Provident Fund Act, 1966 was introduced retrospectively on 1st July, 1964. This provident fund is a provident fund for all seafarers to provide for the financial well-being of seafarers and their families in the present. In view of the obvious need of providing old age retirement benefits to seafarers employed in the shipping industry (Merchant Navy) and their family members and to operate a death provident fund scheme, Siemens . A nomination and workshop camp was organized today at Mercantile Marine House, Hastings, Kolkata. The one-day camp was attended by Surendra Kumar, Commissioner of SPFO, Mumbai, Sujeet Kumar Das, Engineer and Ship Surveyor cum DDG(Tech) Mercantile Marine Department, Kolkata(Chief guest)
